Days 31 and 32! Kayaking and a 4 Mile PR!

Yesterday I went kayaking with my sister.  We had so much fun!  We went on the Huron River in the Milford area.  We saw some turtles, swans, and what I think might have been a herring.  (**Edit!!  My sister just informed me that the bird was a heron.)  It was awesome, the weather was perfect.  We floated down the river with the help of the current for a while.  When we got close to Kensington we turned around and started to head back.  The current was strong from all the rain we've had lately.  The water level was also up a few feet.  We stopped and had pb&j's at a picnic table by the river.  It was a great day!

On to today.  My training plan called for 4 miles today.  I was going to possibly take a rest day but my legs felt fine so off I went.  I actually got a new PR!!!  Wooo!!!  I ran 4 miles in 36:38.  That's a 1 minute and 52 second improvement over my old PR of 38:30.  I'm extremely happy about this!  :oD

          Week 5, Day 32- Friday, July 12, 2013
           Distance: 4 Miles   Time: 36:38  Mile 1: 8:33  Mile 2: 9:16  Mile 3: 9:20  Mile 4: 9:22

My legs feel great right now.  I'm still going to put on my compression socks in a minute.  I think I'm going to cut off the sock part and just use them as calf sleeves since I hate socks so much.  My dad hates socks, too.  He wears his inside out so the seams don't touch his toes.  My Grandma Mayo used to wear her socks like that, too.  :o)
